Prof. Dr.-Ing. Carolus, whose research specialties include hydrokinetic flow machines, has worked diligently across his 30 year career at the University of Siegen toward technical advances in the generation of renewable energy. He has also been very active in promoting cooperation between international universities. He was the coordinator for binational degree programmes with partner institutions in France and the U.K. He has also undertaken and hosted research visits between Siegen and the Polytechnical University of Tirana, Albania.
